Thanks to the great team at Dover Air Force Base who arranged our most recent board meeting on 26-27 Aug 2016. Here are a few highlights from our visit and the meeting:
We started our visit on Friday at the Dover Dining Facility where the board members and other A/TA representatives had the chance to eat lunch with Airmen from Dover. Lunch with Airmen is always a highlight for all who attend. Thanks to Eagle Chapter President Captain Drew Bateman, Capt James Shepard, SMSgt Daniel Unkrur and MSgt Tony Christ for making the arrangements and keeping us on track. We then received an excellent Wing bringing from the 436 AMW Commander, Col Ethan Griffin, and A/TA President CMSgt Mike Kerver (USAF, Ret) reciprocated by providing an A/TA update.
Our visit included a tour of a C-5M where we got to meet and talk with both a C-5 and a C-17 crew. Then it was on to the Air Mobility Museum where Civic Leaders, unit leaders and Eagle Chapter members joined the board members for a professional development seminar during which A/TA Chairman Gen Art Lichte (USAF, Ret) and President CMSgt Mike Kerver (USAF, Ret) fielded questions from the audience. A delicious BBQ dinner followed. There was great interaction and opportunities for all to get to know each other and offer support for the association.
Thanks to all who joined us and for your support of the Eagle Chapter and A/TA!
“We had another superb board meeting. Thanks to the whole team at Dover for their excellent support”- A/TA Chairman, Gen Art Lichte (USAF, Ret)
Saturday was dominated by the business of our board meeting. The association’s chairman, Gen Art Lichte, asked Maj Gen Martinez the AMC/A3 to start our meeting with an update from the command. Following the AMC update Captain Bateman gave the board a report on the Eagle Chapter, and the A/TA board members and leaders reported on progress leading up to this year’s convention in Nashville, where we will “Strengthen our Bonds.”
Many thanks to all the members of Eagle Chapter, Dover and the AMC museum for making the arrangements enabling a very successful board meeting.
Well done and thanks Eagle Chapter!
