On Saturday, October 28, 2017, air mobility airmen and members of the Airlift/Tanker Association gathered for the 49th Annual A/TA Hall of Fame banquet. The banquet was held in conjunction with the 49th Annual A/TA Convention/Symposium & Technology Exhibition in Orlando, FL.
The National Colors were presented by the Air Force ROTC Detachment 159 Honor Guard from the University of Central Florida. The National Anthem was sung by Ms. Erin Murphy, daughter of the A/TA Treasurer Col John Murphy, USAF (Ret) and his wife Katie.
Major General Paul L. Williams, the 29th Airlift/Tanker Association Hall of Fame inductee, was honored. General Williams grandson, Colonel James R. Barrow, USAF (Ret), along with Gen Duncan J. McNabb, USAF (Ret), Chairman of A/TA; and CMSgt Mike Kerver, unveiled the bust of General Williams.
The Airlift/Tanker Association Hall of Fame was established in 1988 to honor those individuals and teams who have demonstrated superior or sustained performance in the advancement of air mobility and refueling.
