Help Support the Gail Halvorsen Aviation Education Center & Museum

Gail Halvorsen Meeting Berliners

At our annual business meeting last October, in conjunction with our 50thanniversary convention, the A/TA Board committed to support one very special project: The “Candy Bomber-Humanitarian Airlift” exhibit at the Gail S. Halvorsen Aviation Education Center in Provo, Utah.

The Halvorsen Aviation Education Center is a $5 Million project with an impressive and growing list of corporate and business supporters.  The Halvorsen Foundation earned a 2018 Gold Seal of Transparency on @GuideStarUSA, based on its exceptional vision and mission, management, programs, stated goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements and progress indicators.  Check out https://www.guidestar.org/profile/81-2879837

Colonel Halvorsen has dedicated his life to aviation education, to mentoring youth and responding to the emergency needs of those around him. At 98 he is still going strong. He has been with A/TA every step of the way, attending over 27 Conventions, participating in seminars and inspiring generations of mobility airmen with his stories of hope. In 1999 Col Halvorsen was inducted into the A/TA Hall of Fame for his incredible lifetime impact on Air Mobility; http://www.atalink.org/content/1999/11/01/1999-colonel-gail-s-halvorsen-usaf-ret/

Gail and Colonel James “Pops” Stewart (USAF, Ret), Chairmen and Executive Director of the Foundation requested A/TA support and the Board committed to raise $30,000 to help furnish and support displays spotlighting mobility airmen and their selfless humanitarian and disaster relief operations.

To commemorate Gail’s 99th birthday this October, we’re asking you to join your fellow mobility airmen supporting our goal. It’s the perfect time for us to support Gail’s legacy and contribute to this worthy cause.
