Below is a General Overview of the Air Mobility Command and Airlift/Tanker Association Symposium and A/TA Convention and Air Mobility Technology Exposition. The 2017 Convention and Symposium will take place 26–29 October, at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando FL.
Every year the agenda for the Airlift/Tanker Association Convention and the Air Mobility Command and A/TA Symposium and Technology Exposition follows the same general outline.
For planning purposes, the A/TA Convention is a two-day event starting on Wednesday and ending Thursday afternoon. The Symposium and Technology Exposition is a four-day event starting with a Thursday evening reception and ending with an unstructured Departure Brunch on Sunday. Badges must be worn for all activities, including evening social events. Convention registration opens about noon on Wednesday.
Registration opens in the afternoon for early arrivers including golfers and exhibitors.
Other A/TA Annual Convention activities may be scheduled.
The golf tournament takes place in the morning, and usually starts at 0800. You do not need your badge for golf; however, there may be insufficient time between golf and the opening reception, to pick up your badge, so pick it up on Wednesday if possible.
The A/TA Annual Business Meeting, Chapter Representative Meeting, and Exhibitor Meeting are held late afternoon.
The Air Mobility Command will host a number of mini-conferences on Thursday afternoon. These conferences are limited to those invited to attend.
The Opening Reception is usually around 1900. It is a business-casual reception in the Technology Exposition Hall. Registration closes before the reception so our volunteers can attend the evening’s events, so plan to be registered and have picked up your badge prior to the reception. Following the reception at 2100 you can meet up with friends at evening social activities which include the Heritage Room and the traditional CRUD Tournament and new Cornhole Tournament.
Friday’s program starts usually starts around 0630, for coffee and rolls. The day will be filled with multiple simultaneous seminars of critical interest. The day concludes with a coat & tie reception in the Technology Exposition Hall followed by more evening social activities to include CRUD finals.
Seminars continue on Saturday, followed by a business suit reception held in the Technology Exposition Hall around 1800. The reception will be followed by a Hall of Fame Banquet and evening social activities.
Sunday Brunch is at leisure, usually from 0630 to 1030.
