Airlift/Tanker Quarterly

The membership oriented association magazine is published four times yearly. It contains up-to-date information on mobility issues; articles of professional interest; reports on association and chapter activities; and stories concerning the heritage of the mobility mission. Members are encouraged to submit items for publication.

Membership includes a subscription to Airlift/Tanker Quarterly.

Chapter Activities

Association chapters around the world provide many opportunities for social and professional interaction. They further the goals of the association and foster good community relations by sponsoring speaking engagements, community improvement activities, recreational outings, and other events. A group of 20 or more members not affiliated with an existing chapter may apply to charter a new chapter.

Association Management

A non-paid volunteer Board of Officers is elected at the annual business meeting to manage the Association for the ensuing year. Association overhead costs are limited to those that directly contribute to Association activities.

Annual Convention

Each fall, a national convention is held to bring member s together for the annual association business meeting and various social activities. Air mobility issues are discussed at professional symposiums, seminars and briefings throughout the convention schedule. Conventions are highlighted by an impressive array of aerospace industry exhibits.

Award Programs

Airlift/Tanker Association Hall of Fame Award

Identifies and recognizes an outstanding Airlift/Tanker individual or group whose sustained legacy of achievement distinguished themselves in outstanding performance to the Air Mobility mission.

Award for Valor

The General P. K. Carlton Award is presented annually to an aircrew member worthy of recognition for heroic action.

Outstanding Aircrew Member Awards

The General Robert "Dutch" Huyser Award is given annually to outstanding individuals in several aircrew member categories.

Young Leadership Awards

Recognizing the importance of identifying and encouraging future mobility leaders, the Association sponsors a leadership award program for young airmen and officers. Each year twelve individual winners receive the award at the national convention, with one selected to advise the Association Board of Officers the following year.

Specialized Mission Award

Identifies and recognizes outstanding individuals whose performance of duties in support of an aerial air mobility mission is exceptionally noteworthy. NOTE: This is a newly established award awaiting incorporation into AMCI 36-2806.

United States Air Force Academy Core Values Trophy

Identifies and recognizes the USAFA Cadet squadron that best exemplifies the USAF core values of integrity, service and excellence during the past year.

Trophy for Combat Tactics Excellence

The General William G. Moore Trophy for Combat Tactics Excellence recognizes the Best Overall Wing at the Air Mobility Command "Rodeo" competition.

Enlisted Education Grant

The Airlift/Tanker Association offers $200.00 Education Grants to deserving enlisted personnel who are members of the Association. Education Grants are available to Air Force Active Duty, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve members pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.
